Internally known as the Maruti YED, this new iteration of the Swift is currently undergoing rigorous road-testing across Indian terrain, with production anticipated to commence next month. Mirroring its predecessor, the new Swift will roll off the assembly lines at Maruti's Hansalpur facility in Gujarat. With the outgoing model maintaining an impressive monthly average of approximately 18,000 units, the stakes are high for its successor. Sources suggest that Maruti aims to elevate production targets to around 20,000 units per month for the new Swift. Although an exact launch date remains undisclosed, industry speculations point towards a potential release by May 2024.

Throughout nearly every iteration of the Swift, Maruti and its parent company Suzuki have remained loyal to the tried-and-true formula that defined the original sporty hatchback upon its debut. The most recent generation of the Swift, unveiled in Japan late last year, adheres steadfastly to this design ethos. While retaining familiar design elements such as the body shell, headlamps, and tail-lamps, the overall aesthetic has been refined with sharper contours and lines.
